INFORMATION ON JOINING THE NIBUCAA

NIBUCAA membership is open to any company and SME that is committed to being a valued partner

in contributing the national response to the AIDS epidemic. While diverse, NIBUCAA member

companies have two features in common: they are leaders; and they wish to respond to the HIV &

AIDS pandemic in the most effective manner possible. Individual persons and non-company

organisations cannot be listed as members. Membership is only open to companies. Member

companies participate in the NIBUCAA's work in ways that best suit them - from membership of

project working groups, sharing good practice or by simply adding their companies' reputation and

reach to the Coalition's work.

Privileges of Membership:

• Assists member companies to develop and implement workplace HIV & AIDS policies and programmes, including prevention education that will reinforce desired safer sex behaviours, HIV voluntary counselling and confidential testing as well as, treatment.


• Access to information on good practice guidelines and policies including updated national and international information on HIV & AIDS, access to the coalition's website, newsletters and other resources
  
  
• Access to training sessions organised by the business coalition on HIV & AIDS work place interventions (e.g. training of peer counsellors/educators, health care personnel, human resources, staff etc.);
  
  
• Offers direct service provision to the community where the businesses operate and facilitates match making, technical assistance, and partnership formation between business, government, and civil society;
  
  
• Facilitates information sharing and support from other coalition members;
  
• Guarantees enhanced public recognition of members for supporting activities against HIV & AIDS.

Annual Membership fees to support the costs of the organisation are based on a company's turnover.

There are three categories:

Category A: Large multinational companies       - N 700,000
Category B: Medium-sized enterprises                 -N 350,000
