PIA/PPP Project share ideas at 7th quarterly meet
The 7th quarterly meeting of the Private Investors for African (PIA) Public Private Partnership (PPP) project for supply chain companies (SCCs) in Nigeria took place at Guinness Nigeria Plc on July 24, 2009. All the partners who are involved in the project were present except for the contact persons from Nigeria Breweries and Unilever Nigeria Plc.
The meeting provided avenue for SCCs to give report of their activities and share experiences. Dr. Bernd Appelt attended the meeting on behalf of GTZ and contributed on technical directions for the project.
As outcome of the meeting the following activities were listed for the next quarter:
- Training of Peer Educators on TB and malaria;
- Review of developed curriculum on tuberculosis and malaria for publication;
- Retraining of PEs on interpersonal communication and counselling continues;
- Cost benefit analysis with contract companies;
- Adaptation of relevant IEC materials for TB and malaria;
- Introduction/distribution of insecticide treated net (ITN) to employees and families of SCCs;
- Peer Education summit;
- Capacity building via online training for focal person.
